When my son was 6, he really got into Harry Potter and it carried through well past 11, when we celebrated his birthday with his first trip to the Wizarding World at Universal in Florida. He was even chosen to do the wand ceremony! It was a super special, awesome day. I made Harry Potter robes for him, my husband. and me that we've used many times since then, including for Halloween, Harry Potter events, etc. We have a variety of Harry Potter games that we still play. When my son was 7, I had an idea to help capture his love for the series in a photo. I created the above photo for him, where he looks like he's flying a broom, playing quidditch, and trying to catch the snitch; wearing the quidditch robes I made for him. My so loved the photo so much, he asked for one the size of our dining room table to hang in his room. While we didn't go quite that big, we did get him a large print that still hangs on the wall above his bed. He's 14 now and although he still likes Harry Potter, he's not as into it as he was before, and has grown out of all of his robes. But we will always have this special photo capturing him at age 7 when he was super into Harry Potter.

This is what I love so much about Childhood Sessions; capturing kiddos just as they are at their age and stage of childhood and incorporating something they're really into. It gives them photographs that truly capture who they are, and parents get that memory forever preserved.

Childhood Sessions are all about the child.

Do they love the beach? Let's do their session at the beach doing what they love doing there.

Do they love the zoo? Let's do a session there!

Or maybe what they love is at home and we can capture them in their natural environment doing what they love.

Keep it Short

Childhood sessions are 30 minutes. Long enough to allow them to warm up if needed and for me to capture their personalities, but not too long that they loose interest or get tired.

Clothing

We'll discuss clothing options that reflect their likes and personality but that will also photograph well.

What ages are these good for?

These sessions are great for kiddos ages 1 to 15.

A Token of Childhood

This is also a great opportunity to include a special loved item, like a blanket, stuffy or toy.

We can even work with a theme of something they're into. You can bring any props or things from home that you want to include in the session.

These kiddos grow up so fast. Let's capture these memories for both you and them!
