Underwater Maternity & Family Photo Session | Viera FL Underwater PhotographerUnderwater session in the winter? We can do it if you have access to a heated pool! Unfortunately, my pool isn't heated and I only have a solar cover to extend my underwater season from April 1- October 30. I do hope to one day add a heater! Until then, I can only do underwater sessions from November - March if the client has a heated pool. This is why you'll notice a different look in these underwater photos than in most of the ones I've posted since it's not my pool. This pool is deeper than mine which has some benefits like having a darker background facing the deep end and a little more room to play depth-wise. I would love if my pool had a deeper end than it does, but the upside to not having it deeper is that any client can stand anywhere in my pool so you don't have to be a super strong swimmer. This momma is extra special to me, as she's a big reason why we ended up on the Space Coast. When my husband was about to retire from the Navy and looking for a job, she let me know about openings at her company (which hadn't been on our radar), and forwarded his resume to her boss. Well, now he works there and loves it! Oh, and did I mention we went to middle & high school together in Ohio? And reconnected on FB when we were both pregnant with our firstborns and married to a military member? Yep! The universe works in mysterious ways! Another way this session was different from the majority of my underwater maternity sessions is that we not only included Dad but also big sister, who was almost 10 and a great swimmer so we really had some fun with including everyone. She even had a couple of ideas of her own that we tried out and turned out great! One of the images from this session also won 2nd Place in the maternity category for the 2023 NAPCP International Image Competition! I was so excited to place in this prestigious professional photography competition. Scroll through to find the winning image!
This momma used to be on swim team and is a strong swimmer, so we were able to take advantage of the deep end even with this robe/gown. This is harder than it looks!
This one was big sister's idea and it turned out great! I love collaboration with clients, and often kids have great ideas for fun things to do underwater.
