I'd like to introduce you all to Coach Judy, a health and happiness coach. She's a warm, kind, giving, helpful, positive soul and I'm grateful to have met her! Tell us about your business. What services/products do you offer?

I help smart successful women feel better, more confident and learn how to let go of the shitshow going on in their head so she can stop critical self judgement and go after their dreams.

What inspired you to open your business?

I became a certified health coach back in 2013 after I spent years sick with autoimmune colitis, leaky gut, chronic fatigue, depression, anxiety, perfectionism, people pleasing and an eating disorder. I struggled to find answers but eventually I reclaimed my mental and physical health and decided that, if I was challenged to recover my health as a nurse and diabetes educator for over 20 years, then it was way more difficult for the average person, so I wanted to offer up what worked for me. Then, after working with clients and continuing to work on my own mind, my thoughts, emotions, stories and beliefs, and overall well-being, I knew that I wanted to also support women in all areas of their life. That disease was actually dis-ease! It was then I decided that I help women feel better about themselves, about their life, and about their own empowerment to transform their life.

Earlier this year, I also added Independent Arbonne Consultant to my resume as I am in love with how their superior and ultra clean products along with their message of “Healthy from the inside out” supports what I am already doing for my clients seeking that happy healthy worthy and wealthy
life. I love being part of an future focused, 38 year old company that simply provides the some of the best vegan skin care and nutrition plus offers income for those who want to share the goodness with others. Why not create an extra income by talking about the stuff I already use and love?

Who is your biggest inspiration in life/business?
My husband has taught me so much about unconditional love (loving me when I wasn’t so lovable),not taking myself so serious and really just enjoying just being in the moment. Although I have to throw in a little Oprah, Brene Brown, Marie Forleo, and Master Life Coach Brooke Castillo.

What do you love most about what you do?

I love the long lasting transformations that happen for women who once they learn how to change their thoughts and manage their minds. I love that they see how the stories and beliefs they hold about themselves are not always serving them. I love that clarity, courage and confidence that comes from knowing they have control over their thoughts, emotions, their food, their choices and their life.

What is your biggest success with your business to date? What are you most proud of?

I am really proud of my unique signature programs that help women learn how to manage their minds, reframe their stories of shame and unworthiness while seeing their true courageous and confident journey. I help them “flip their scripts” and really find the mental power to shift out of old disempowering stories but also they have tools to go after their big dreams.

Do you have a memorable moment in your business that you can share with us?

Although I really love speaking to groups of women about how they can transform their life and go after their big dreams, last year I helped a woman in her 60’s who tried and failed at tolerating four different statin medications (cholesterol lowering drugs), drop her cholesterol from over 300 to under 180 (and the HDL and LDL ratios flipped into the right range) and cut triglycerides in half. Her blood pressure returned to normal, dropped 30 lbs and she is completely off her thyroid medication (under medical supervision) without any hypothyroid symptoms. She sleeps great, has lots of energy for her new grandson and feels confident in her body. I educated, I supported, I gave ideas and suggestions. I helped her manage her thoughts about food, her body, her urges, that previously would have derailed her efforts to improve her health. We took her lifestyle and made it work for her, made it so she could maintain a healthy life for years to come. She walks 6k-8k steps per day, her joint pain is greatly improved from reducing the inflammation and she is no longer at high risk for a stroke. So many times we just accept that these issues are all part of aging. That right there is the first story to shift. From that place we can take back control of our health and create the next chapter of our lives.

What can your clients expect from you when they book with you?

My goal is to help women figure out what they want, why they want it and then I help see the only reason they don’t have it is because they have an unmanaged mind. Of course we all have circumstances and challenges, but I teach them how to get out of their own way and mind the chatter in their head and have the courage and confidence to try. It really is who we become in the process of trying to get to that goal that helps us grow.

Tell us three things about you that we might not know.

I love anything aquatic especially stand up paddle boarding.
I love cooking (and eating) healthy and tasty food.
I love paying it forward and teaching the things I’ve learned to anyone who will listen (I really wanted to be a sports psychologist and/or teacher… now I do all that and more)

Name three local businesses you love and why.

Pippi's Consignment Cottage run by Jamie Bernard (who also is the founder of a local women’s networking group Network of Women) is a testimony to my own spirit of jumping in and figuring out as you go. Her enthusiasm for people shows up in all she does, and finding ways to support other women is such a valuable trait.

Amelia Toffee owner Anita Comisky also shows how when you have that little spark of desire to create something, you follow it and watch the magic unfold. With determination, perseverance and courage she has created a brand that brings touch of Amelia Island to places far and wide.

Nicole Causey of Soulshine Reiki is another role model of courage. As a fellow wellness warrior, I love how she has embraced her passion and purpose to help others heal and begin to feel whole. I personally love my sessions with her, they are often filled with breakthroughs to a new level of well being mind body and spirit.

Is there anything else you’d like to share?

I feel so happy and grateful for my family and the wonderful things that have happened in my life, but I now I can really appreciate all the challenges and dark night of the soul experiences that have helped me to grow, to heal and to be able to do this work so others can too.
