It isn't often that I use a lot of Photoshop in my images. I work to get it right in camera and then process mostly with Lightroom, but there are times when an image calls for a little more, whether it's to remove a distraction, some retouching that's better done in Photoshop, or really taking an image to another level. This image called for a little bit of everything so I thought it would be fun to do a before and after post. The before image is straight out of the camera (SOOC). I was shooting quickly to capture the movement in this momma's gown as my lovely assistant (read husband) tossed the second layer of the dress and tried to get out of the way. He's fast, but not that fast...

When I went through the images after the session and saw the shape the dress made with the wind and my husband tossing it, I knew this image needed to be taken to the next level. It wasn't enough to develop the image and remove my husband from it, because no matter how much I played with the crop, it just wasn't right with what I had to work with in the frame. I really wished I had more beach/ocean to the right, so it was something I had to add to achieve my vision.
